Administering anaesthesia when patient suffered chest discomfort – Docs and hospital held negligent

The patient was badly injured in a road accident. She sustained fractures and crush injuries on her left hand, from shoulder to the wrist. After receiving first-aid at a government hospital, she was shortly treated at another hospital, and subsequently transferred to a higher centre.

The orthopaedic surgeon performed wound debridement, radial artery and nerve repair with excision arthroplasty and elbow spanning external fixator. The serious nature of injuries may have scared the patient but thankfully, she recovered in sixteen days and was discharged.
