The patient with history of asthma, diagnosed with pneumonia and fluctuating fever, was admitted to the hospital. She experienced other medical conditions such as loose motion and vomiting. Her father was a doctor.

The malaise of cancer itself is enough to destroy life of patients and their family. Doctors ‘missing’ to report this deadly disease, in this day and age, is perhaps the worst insult to an incurable injury that there could ever be. Unfortunately, its exactly what happened in this case.
 

A doctor admitted his ailing father in the hospital he worked for. Kidney function tests were performed, blood urea and serum creatinine values were reported abnormally high. The attending nephrologist advised urgent dialysis, but it could not be performed as the dialysis technician was not available.

The patient was diagnosed with Inferior Vena Caca (IVC), Budd Chiari syndrome and type-II diabetes. He was admitted to the hospital under care of a nephrologist who knew the patient well. He was discharged after a week.

A patient at full term pregnancy was taken to the nursing home. The on-duty doctor advised some tests and prescribed antacids. However, meconium-stained discharge was observed. An emergency C-section was needed.

This is an interesting case that addresses question faced by many healthcare providers – can a doctor be held negligent for not performing tests that are difficult to perform or may not be readily available? 

The patient was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever, fatigue, pain in bones, visible blood spots on both arms and legs, with recent history of vomiting blood clot. Several tests were performed to diagnose the cause of ailments.

The patient, a young boy, was feeling unwell. He was taken to a general physician (GP) by his father. The GP advised blood sugar and some other tests.

The tests done at a pathology lab did not report anything out of the ordinary.
