Deadly dengue claims patient’s life, almost infects doctor’s reputation

The patient, a young man of twenty-five years, suffered from high-grade fever, headache, nausea, vomiting and giddiness. He was admitted to the hospital where Widal and rapid malaria tests were conducted. A provisional diagnosis of viral / typhoid fever was made – the young man was admitted in the ICU.

Despite medications the fever did not subside. The patient was transferred to another hospital.
