A case of alleged medical negligence has been reported at a private hospital in Thandla town of Jhabua district, following the death of a 55-year-old man during treatment. The deceased man’s family has accused doctors of removing both his testicles without their knowledge or consent, allegedly under the pretext of surgery for spinal cancer.

On Saturday, enraged family members and villagers staged a protest outside the hospital, placing the body in an ambulance. Police were deployed at the site to prevent any untoward incident.

Allegations after death during treatment

The deceased, Tansingh Bhuria (55), a resident of Jhadadabar village, was the husband of village sarpanch Gavra. According to an application submitted by his son Tolu Bhuria to SDOP Neeraj Namdev, Tansingh had been unwell for the past one-and-a-half years and was undergoing treatment at K.K. Shah Hospital in Thandla.

The family stated that initial medical examinations were conducted by Baroda-based specialist Dr Ankit Shah, who diagnosed cancer in the spinal cord.
