Kullu: A day after a doctor and two nurses were suspended for alleged medical negligence over the death of a 23-year-old woman after childbirth, the medical staff of the regional hospital in Kullu staged a protest on Wednesday.Demanding additional security on the hospital premises and action against the protestors who had barged into the hospital on Monday, doctors said they felt insecure.Later, the doctors also submitted a memorandum of their demands to the Kullu additional deputy commissioner.On Tuesday, the state govt suspended Dr Anu Devi, a gynaecologist posted at the hospital.The suspension came a day after hundreds of people stormed the regional hospital over the death of Manju Sharma, a resident of Bali Chowki in Mandi district's Seraj region. Sharma died on June 21, a day after undergoing a caesarean section.Her family alleged that despite repeatedly complaining of severe discomfort after delivery, her deteriorating condition was ignored by nursing staff, who allegedly dismissed her complaints as "drama".
