In a dire case of medical negligence, a four-year-old was administered a wrong injection, following which his left leg went dysfunctional. The incident was reported from Pattamundai Sub-divisional Hospital (SDH) in Kendrapara district.
According to information, the four-year-old son of one Anand Malik of Matiya village here was brought to the hospital for treatment of cold on August 23. The doctors attended him and prescribed an injection.
After the injection, the child fell severely ill and was even unable to move his leg as his leg was paralysed.
The boy’s family has alleged that this happened due to the doctor’s wrong medicine and injection. The family members of the boy have approached the authorities of SDH.
The irate locals staged a protest in front of the hospital along with other villagers. They knocked the doors of the police station against the SDH for justice, but no one has listened to their complaints.
This medical negligence in Kendrapara district met with protests as the child’s leg lay dysfunctional owing to the carelessness.
