A new turn took place this Friday in the case of alleged medical negligence that ended the life of Karen Margarita Pacheco González in the municipality of Sabanalarga, after the Secretary of Health of the Atlantic confirm the opening of a formal investigation to clarify what happened at the San Rafael clinic.

Dellys Pacheco, sister of Karen Margarita, confirmed to Blu Radio that the departmental portfolio communicated with her father, Adonay Pacheco; to announce that already started a process for the unfortunate case and place the sanctions that may apply “if so required”.

“They contacted my father this Friday to tell him that they were going to investigate my sister’s case because We continue to insist that she died because they did not want to attend to her. We still feel the pain of her death since it could have been avoided if they had not refused, in principle, to give her a transfusion when she needed it,” he explained.

Likewise, Dellys Pacheco pointed out that “we are waiting for them to contact us again so that they indicate the step to follow and, although we do not want to file complaints at all, we will let the authorities investigate to that cases like my sister’s do not occur again“.

Karen Margarita Pacheco González was a 30-year-old nursing assistant who worked at the Bonadonna clinic in Barranquilla, who died last weekend after presenting a strong viral picture that complicated his state of healthtaking into account that he presented basic pathologies due to sickle cells.

To the symptoms of fever, sore throat and shortness of breath, sand the alleged poor care he received at a clinic in Sabanalarga would have been addedin which they would have refused to transfuse her despite the fact that she suffered from sickle cell anemia.
